Welcome to KP Dermatology!
Our goal is to provide each patient medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services in a professional and comfortable environment. For your convenience, we offer appointment availability same week and sometimes same day. If you don’t have insurance or you are covered by insurance and just want to see a dermatologist quickly, we make seeing a board certified dermatologist available to everyone. We offer an affordable out-of-pocket fee of $145 for a new patient visit.
Dr. Kauffman and Dr. Pinney provide their patients with comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair and nail conditions. They offer a full range of treatment options that address general skin care issues, surgical procedures (skin cancer, cysts, moles) and cosmetic dermatology. They address common pediatric skin problems such as acne, warts, eczema, and molluscum contagiosum. Julia A. Kauffman, M.D. is trained in medical dermatology, cutaneous oncology, and cosmetic dermatology and treats patients of all ages with a broad range of skin conditions. She is board certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology, and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Dermatological Society, Harris County Medical Society, and Houston Dermatological Society. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and regularly participates in conferences and other activities to continue her medical education.
Dr. Kauffman graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego with undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry and Spanish Literature. As a medical student at Washington University in St. Louis, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed a preliminary year internship in internal medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston; dermatology residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center; and fellowship in dermatopathology at The University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston.

Sarah Pinney, MD is a board-certified dermatologist, trained in complex medical dermatology, cutaneous oncology, and cosmetic dermatology. She treats patients of all ages with a broad range of skin conditions. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Texas Medical Association, Texas Dermatological Society, Harris County Medical Society, and Houston Dermatological Society. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and regularly participates in conferences and other activities to continue her medical education.
Dr. Pinney is from Houston, Texas. She graduated from Emory University with an undergraduate degree in neuroscience and behavioral biology. She was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society as a medical student at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center – Houston. She completed her preliminary internal medicine internship at Baylor College of Medicine; dermatology residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she served as chief resident.
After graduation, she became an assistant professor for The University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston where she was chief of service at Lyndon B Johnson hospital. She was elected as a top doctor by Texas Monthly Magazine in July 2017 and a rising star in July 2018.
